My beloved helicopter ever : Blade mCX RTF
I don't mean to gush, but...Wow! You take this thing out of the box, payment the battery (all the batteries are included), and start flying. It is very easy to control, and includes an elective learning mode with less responsive controls to help you get started (in this case, less responsive is a good thing.)

My 11-year-old daughter is having a ball with it the first day. Our only complaint is that we only have two flight batteries-the more flight batteries you have, the more flight time until you have to pause for a recharge cycle. Flight batteries cost about eight or ten bucks, so it's worth having more. We have two, but will probably buy one more. Be sure to buy the higher capacity batteries, 130 mAh like these: 2 Pack 3.7V 130mAh Lipo for Blade Mcx, Parkzone Vapor, Cessna helicopters.

Recharging takes about 15 minutes, for 8-10 minutes flight time. So if you have three flight batteries, you get 24-30 minutes flight time, which is plenty. If you've been charging batteries while you fly, the first battery is fully charged, so you get someone else 8-10 minutes. After that, have some lunch, and recharge everything.

We've started to fly missions between the end tables and the floor. Extremely recommended for coordinated kids, 11-110 years.

Easy Setup and Remote Control Operation

Disappointed, Sorry! : Lionel Polar Express Train Set - G-Gauge
My grandson is kookoo for any trains, Thomas, Polar Express, toys, movies, YouTube videos... any trains in any form.

I belief I'd get him a junky train for fun for Christmas. I figured it would last the season. Unfortunately, I picked up a cheapie at ToysRus for $[...]. Not only did it break after one week, it was pretty cheesy. Cars didn't unquestionably hook together, battery hookup from the coal tender to the machine was junky, etc. I don't even know if I'll be able to get prestige for the dumb thing since my daughter-in-law inadvertently threw the receipt away. But my grandson was nutty about the thing.

So I started a desparate crusade last night Dec. 19th, and every person was out of the junkier trains. I did an ultimate internet crusade and found nothing. By today, just about every person was out of the great trains too. I ultimately had success at Target and got the Polar Express Battery Powered train G Scale. My grandson unquestionably loves it and it is made so much great than the cheap ones. The cars securely hook together, it has 3 speeds transmit and 3 reverse. My daughter-in-law is thrilled that it doesn't unquestionably make a big racket; just sufficient noise to please my grandson without irritating every person else in the household. I am planning to get him two 9.5 v. Battery packs and chargers so he won't run out of batteries. This train is surely the hit of Christmas 2008.

Best Value for the Beginner / Advanced-Beginner : Syma S031G RC Helicopter with Lipo battery Newest Version
I have all 3 sizes of Syma copters and I love them all. I play with them with my son and we both love them. By far the most durable copters I have purchased. If you are beginning out for the first time, get the s107 for indoors first. It is Ir so indubitably its for indoors but it gets you used to flying. Then step up to the s032 and finally this one, the s031. The orange color on this one and the Leds which flash all over it are totally awesome! Great buy at a good price too.

Blade Get's It Right with the 120 Sr : Blade 120 SR BNF
This is the ideal second helicopter. I learned with a mCx2 coaxial helicopter and the transicion was not difficult. It flies very well and stable. The first step it to properly trim it and then have fun. It flies very well outside, even with light winds I have no question to control it properly. Just buy some supplementary batteries as each one gives you colse to 6 minutes of flight.
The helicopter is strong and one of the best components is the rotor as its built of flexible plastic so it won't break genuinely if you crash.
